Today it’s the first of May, so we’d like to wish you kalo mina (happy new month). This is a day of great joy in Greece as we celebrate Protomagia, the first day of the last month of spring. In rituals harking back to ancient Greece, we celebrate the blossoming of nature and beauty of spring with flower festivals, picnics and kite-flying in the countryside. One of our favourite rituals is the gathering of wildflowers to make a wreath for our front door to welcome nature and the coming summer.
